Boadi Releases New Video for "AwoMaa" (Mother), Off His Latest EP "AwoMaa"
Boadi (pronounced bwer-dee) is excited to announce the release of his latest video 'AwoMaa' (Mother), taken off his second EP 'AwoMaa'. Released earlier this year, his sophomore EP 'AwoMaa’ (‘Awo’ being his Grandmothers name ‘Maa’ translating to child in the Ghanaian dialect Twi; altogether meaning ‘my grandma’s child’) is a genuine and conscious reflection on experiences of love, relationships and family. An exciting combination of smooth, soulful vocals with jazz undertones. On a more personal level, it also pays homage to the women who raised him.
The rising UK soul star is a British singer/songwriter/producer hailing from South London. He possesses a distinct nostalgic sound that's a fusion of RnB, Jazz and Afro-funk. Citing D’Angelo, Fela Kuti and Marvin Gaye among his top musical influences, it’s clear to see the foundations of his soulful exchanges. 'AwoMaa' is the next instalment from Boadi, following the release of his last video 'Only You'.
