Austin Based Rock Group The Canvas People Share Their New Music Video "Handle On My History"
Hailing from Austin, Texas, The Canvas People cultivate a blend of melodic indie and harmony-driven alt-rock. Since their formation in 2014, the group has evolved into an eclectic rock group featuring pulsating guitars, subtle synthesizers, and booming three-part harmonies.
The group has just released a new, Keaton Davis directed clip entitled "Handle On My History", which is a captivating short film and the first music video from their upcoming LP, “Garden Party”. This album guarantees to be the group’s most ambitious, and self-aware effort to date. “Garden Party” capitalizes on the old while offering plenty of new.
The Canvas People invite listeners to take a look at themselves, take a look at the world, and find a reason to celebrate. Lead singer Kyle Taylor explains, “You invest in a garden. You plant the seed, and you carefully tend to the fruit. You don’t know what, if anything, is going to come of all of it. But none of it is a waste because it’s all part of the same process. This record is about celebrating the process, both the gorgeous fruits and the inevitable death and decay.”
We’re now huge fans of The Canvas People based on the strength of their “Handle On My History” song and its clip, and we think that you will be too, especially if you like music by Spoon, Foals or The Killers.
