UK Soul Star Beth Macari Returns With Jazz-Laden Love Letter "Love You More"
Following her feel-good single ‘Gotta Get Back’ which reached #5 in the UK Soul Charts, Newcastle’s finest soul artist Beth Macari is back with a heartfelt R&B-inflected track ‘Love You More’. The new track sees her swap out 90s dancefloor vibes of her previous release for a more sultry, jazz-driven soul sound. Reminiscent of early Alicia Keys and Lauryn Hill, Beth channels some of the musical influences that she hasn’t yet explored in her music. Having written the track sat at the dining table with her boyfriend, drinking whiskey and building a love story together, Beth’s organic creativity shines through in this open and honest love letter.
Beth on the inspiration behind the track:
“Love You More was initially written as a love letter, creating a story of an Intense and deep love, and that feeling of never wanting to be without each other. I’ve not really explored this kind of writing before with my lyrics, I really enjoyed the creative process, and I’m pleased that I was able to create something fictional but that in the end, I could still relate to.”
Beth has always known that making music was the path in life for her, from gigging at age 15 and performing musical theatre, music continued to be at the forefront of her mind into adult life. A strong advocate for women’s voices being heard in the industry, Beth hopes to convey a message of female empowerment in her music and on her platform.
With her last single still bouncing around the Top 30 in the UK Soul Charts thanks to extensive radio play on the soul circuit, Beth has also enjoyed major support across BBC Radio and The Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger, who told Beth her voice “came from baby Jesus”. Beth is set to perform across the UK this summer including a headline show at Newcastle’s top soul venue Hoochie Coochie as well as established grassroots venue The Bedford in London and a support slot with X Factor winner Alexandra Burke this September.
