Tokyo Based Rapper Fox Spirit Unleashes His Self-Produced New Track "Catch Me If You Can"
Growing up listening to City Pop and 60's Rock music, Fox Spirit blends the aesthetics of the two and squeezes it into his beats that instantly takes you to dystopian Tokyo. With conscious lyricism descendant of 2Pac, Nas and Kendrick Lamar, and beats heavy like Kanye West and N.W.A., with respect to the culture of Hip-hop, Fox Spirit is following the path of the greats while embracing the Japanese dual persona of both eccentric and ethereal. "Keeping it real" taken to a whole new level, the physical embodiment of westernized Japan. Fox Spirit is the voice of tomorrow.
‘Catch Me If You Can’ revolves around the idea of post war Japan and the soulless state it is in due to both Western influence and unnecessary traditions. The sly attitude of the old that are out of touch with the current world continue to leach on the struggling youth. The country is run by arbitrary code where the self and independence are both sacrificed for a supposedly better society. The rapper sacrifices itself in an attempt to liberate the unique minds of individuals, and rages with and for the suppressed. The song is written by Atsuhiro A Nakayama, produced, mixed and mastered by Fox Spirit.
