Steven Strong Drops His Brand New Track "Solely Me", With Marisol Luna
After his strong, 5-song debut EP, "Special Event Ahead", followed by 2 singles, “Obsession” & “Biscuits”, newcomer Steven Strong is keeping busy with his sixth single of the year, featuring vocals from fellow Central Texan Marisol Luna.
"I'm proud of what we did with SEA [Special Event Ahead], but I'm even more proud of where my mind is these days and how that's impacted my songwriting lately with these recent singles. “Solely Me” came gushing out of me sort of all at once and as I wrote the lyrics I knew it was something I needed Marisol to be a part of as well and together we’ve created something that hits deep and feels powerfully inspiring."
“Solely Me” officially dropped on 11/11/2020 at 11:11 AM on all streaming platforms. A three part team of Neighbr Beats (Swiss beatmaker), Kieran Krebs of Overcast Recordings in Austin (mix/master/magic) and Strong himself (lyrics, vocals) have joined forces once again to unleash a new, deeply introspective banger. The track becomes otherworldly with the addition of Marisol Luna’s gentle, commanding vocals.
"Music is important to me, of course, but Kieran and I work together the way we do because we're homies. He's a brother. I'd take a bullet for that dude, you know? Just so happens that he's incredibly talented. So, it's been wack not being able to go to his studio and record, but even worse not being able to hang out and be humans together. But honestly, it's made it easier to be productive from an artist standpoint because all there is to do is perfect our craft, so why wouldn't we be doing that? I can record in my little closet studio and get every take the way we need and let Kieran do his wizardry. And with Neighbr absolutely bringing down the house with this beat, I'm honored to be a part of what we've done and we're so stoked to let it fly into existence for everyone to hear. I even closed the song with a special little guest who is also included in the cover art."
