Song of the Day: "In It 4 A Lifetime" by Amsterdam Based Artist/Producer Zanillya

One of Holland’s brightest new stars Zanillya has just released her latest single “In It 4 A Lifetime”, and after listening to it for the first time, it was an easy decision to give it the accolade as our Song of the Day!
On “In It 4 A Lifetime” Zanillya brings together the two worlds of her upbringing as she merges musical influences of her Aruban and Macedonian heritage. Her strong rhythmic vocals that explore feelings of insecurity and self-doubt glide over a dancehall inspired instrumental peppered with distorted gypsy chants.
Speaking on the single, Zanillya says:
“Struggling with insecurity and self-doubt my entire life, this song came to me in a moment where I had looked within myself and decided to push forward regardless of the circumstances. It was a point in my life where I felt like giving up but then realizing I could never let go. My dad tried to explain the artist’s faith to me while he was alive, yet I never got the paradox of it until this song was born”.
About Zanillya:
Rapper/singer-songwriter/producer Zanillya is based in Amsterdam. As the daughter of the late disco King Bobby Farrell (Boney M), Zanillya’s life has been extraordinary in every way.
Born in Hanover, Germany, Zanillya’s love for music began at a young age. Being inspired by her fathers journey, which included success and setbacks, music became a tool for self-nurturing and dealing with her own personal hardships.
After an arduous journey through her inner self, the singer and co-producer of her own sound is ready to release her first EP, which blends her diverse influences: dancehall, hip-hop and R&B. On this EP Zanillya reveals a more intimate and therefore darker side, as she opens up about her battle with depression.
Earlier this year, her debut and sophomore singles ‘C.R.S.H.D’ and ‘For You’ have firmly established her as one to watch picking up support from key tastemakers including Jamz Supernova and DJ Target on 1xtra, Glamcult, Metal Magazine, Office Magzaine, i-D, Dummy and The Quietus.
