Orlando Hip-Hop Artist Clane Matthew Shares His New Track "Keys To The Kingdom"

Clane Matthew is an Jamaican born conscious hip hop artist based in Orlando, FL who’s song “I’m Not a Rapper”, was featured on DCWS last year. The talented emcee now returns with his self produced, engineered and mastered, debut album “An Immigrant Story, Pt. 1”.

Speaking about the new project, Clane says, “I split the album into two parts so it can have a greater impact on my listeners. The album is about my life and struggles of being a first time immigrant in this country and how I used those experiences to become the successor of my family. The album also aims to shine light on the on going struggles first time immigrants face when they arrive to the country and the album also aims to give hope and faith to those who are in the same situation, so they can see that they can become successful if they put their hearts and minds to it”.

The track “Keys to the Kingdom”, featuring EL Bravo and Governor Beachie, is the last song of part 1 of the album, and according to Clane represents victory. He also states that “The song talks about how everyone who used to speak against me and crush my hopes and dreams, needs to take a look at me now, that I’ve made it and overcame the obstacles and hate, and now I’m walking into my destiny and what God has planned for me. The song is a mixture of reggae and hip hop, as I drew inspiration from my Jamaican roots and combined it with my style. It uses strings, 808s, a harp, saxophone and a trumpet. I made some of the melodies of the instruments hip hop, and the others reggae, and then I combined them. After that, I added reggae DJ vocals in the first verse, and chorus, and then rap/hip hop for the second verse.”
