Milwaukee Punk Rock Band Alternative Radio Unleash Their New Song "I Don't Want You"
We featured the debut EP “Cough Up Your Money” by Milwaukee punk rock band Alternative Radio earlier this year and now they have returned to DCWS with their latest song “I Don’t Want You”. Heavy and loud, “I Don’t Want You” is exactly what we’ve come to expect from Alternative Radio, music that is keeping punk rock fresh, raw, and authentic.
Speaking about the track, the band says,
“When we wrote this track we were listening to a lot of blues punk from the 70’s, being heavily influenced by artists like Johnny Thunders, and the New York Dolls. Although we are a three piece we wanted to create an illusion of a fuller sounding band, so we overdubbed a few extra guitar parts, something we don’t normally do. We also brought piano into the recording, which to a lot of people who have never heard of bands like The Boys, or The Boomtown Rats is perplexing to the average listener. Most people have only heard The Ramones, and are yet to hear the vast variety of punk out there. We are very excited with the direction the band is going, and feel like we are starting to find a sound we want to settle on. Constantly bringing in influences from blues, and groups like The Rolling Stones, creating a blend of 70’s punk, and ‘rock and ‘roll. The best way to describe the direction of our band is punk ‘rock and ‘roll.”
