Major salute from DCWS to Bay Area native Alas, who is currently living in LA to pursue his dream of making music. After graduating a year early from UCLA, he decided to ditch the idea of becoming a lawyer to tirelessly write and record songs before debuting with the two-song pack, “You, Me, and Everyone Else” in June of 2020. What started out as, "I have to try making music before I go to law school" quickly turned into, "no, this is the thing I have to do with my life", and now he's making music with the same insight and purpose he used to ace the LSAT. Through his quickly growing solo catalog, as well as the music slated to release this year with label mates from LVLD Entertainment, he's showing audiences that fulfillment comes from passion and having fun, not necessarily traditional or “professional” accolades.

Alas’s new single “No Te Hagas” already shows an elevation in style from his previous release, and invites new audiences to want to know more about the enigmatic character. Combining influences from the classic 90s Hip Hop he grew up listening to, his Mexican-American upbringing, and contemporary sounds, he lays infectiously catchy flows over an equally bouncy instrumental from producer BMTJ (notable credits include Snow Tha Product and PH-1). Alas creates a fun environment while telling those who aren't feeling extremely confident about themselves: "You're beautiful, no te hagas".
