Indie-Rock Project Sharkorama Drops the Song "Some Days I Feel Like Pete Best"
Cody Knauer’s Sharkorama began in Chicagoland basement with a Tascam four-track, a literal handful of microphones borrowed (permanently and without permission) from the high school AV club, and an unreasonably cheap laminate guitar named Charlenne. Dusty Casios, second-hand Strats, pawned drums, busted electric basses, and even the occasional marimba were folded into the freewheeling amalgamation. Playful lyrics delivered with urgency and honesty played center stage. In the ensuing years, the sound has been refined and the lyrics have matured, but the spirit has only been further embraced.
Sharkorama’s first full length album “Abstractions” was released in 2015 and now the second, “Wicked Machine”, has just been unveiled. Including 12 tracks, “Wicked Machine” is a full fledged auditory revelation, and is a testament to what an innovative mind can create, as every tune was self-written, performed and produced.
A song in particular that we’d like to share with you is the ninth one you’ll hear once you press play on the album, entitled “Some Days I Feel Like Pete Best”. You’ll love this song, especially if you are a fan of Big Star, Wavves, and Wilco.
We’ll be posting our review of “Wicked Machine”, as well as our Q&A with Sharkorama very soon, but in the meantime, be sure to check out “Some Days I Feel Like Pete Best”, and connect with him on his website and social media.
