Dutch Rapper, Singer and Producer Zanillya Fronts the New Nike Online Campaign With Her Motivating Track "You're It"
Dutch rapper, singer and producer Zanillya dances to the beat of her own drum with her diverse and uncompromising sound. Beloved by tastemakers across the board from Sway Calloway, Jamz Supernova, Dj Target, and Toddla T, to i-D, Clash, Office magazine and DUMMY, she adds to her growing collection of singles with brand new song “You’re It”.
Produced by Zanillya and long time collaborator Humphrey Dennis, together they form production duo MariaDennis, the track is another example of their eclecticism that has come to define Zanillya’s career thus far. Uniting Brazilian percussion and vocal samples with 808’s, the production is bold but fun, which exactly mirrors Zanillya's execution. “You’re It” serves as an intentional anthem for female empowerment and confidence, name dropping a string of modern-day icons, including the likes of Naomi Campbell, Rihanna, Serena Williams and Lena Waithe.
Speaking on the track, Zanillya shared: “We live in a beautiful time now, where everyone is starting to feel the freedom to embrace themselves, people are getting the space to be that, which they choose and that is encouraged rather than judged or shot down. I am happy with where we are but believe there is still a lot of work, acceptance and healing to be done. So, with this song I hope to add to the movement and empower girls, but anyone really, to just be who they are, unapologetically!”
A song deserving of its inclusion in the international online campaign for Nike. Zanillya and Dennis' creative efforts have continuously put them in positions of acclaim with plenty major brands looking to use their music for their campaigns.
Currently working on a debut EP which will merge her diverse influences together, Zanillya has a unique disposition that will help her as not only an undeniable talent, but also a relatable one.
