Dublin Rapper/RnB Artist Carsten2X Drops His Debut Single "Beaucoup"

Dublin hip-hop/RnB producer and artist Carsten2X introduces himself with his debut single "Beaucoup".

The bouncing cut opens with warped acoustic guitar lines and whispering flute melodies before moving into its irresistible hook: "I need beaucoup / Real shit not that tofu / If I don’t get it might go goku".

Exuding confidence and humour in equal measure, Carsten2X worked with Chuks Chiejine on the production (known for his work on Brockhampton's track "Sugar" and as a guitarist for Burna Boy) and with Richard Furch (Tobi Lou, Frank Ocean, BJ the Chicago Kid) on mixing/mastering.

An accomplished juxtaposition between his dreams, ambitions, and the stark reality, "Beaucoup" references levelling up like a 'Super Saiyan' and having his 'wrist on froze' – all cleverly pointing toward his aspirations for his new project.

Of the new single, Carsten2X commented: "So, with 'Beaucoup', the lyrics are kind of my work around of talking about sold out shows and plaques without having them. Basically a song about all the things I’m trying to get and accomplish. With a few tongue in cheek lines, as I try to have fun with it when I’m making songs. The hook is saying that I want these things and it’s my right to try everything to get them."

Born in Dubai, living in Kazakhstan until he was 2, Carsten2X was then predominantly raised in a suburb of Dublin called Shankill. His moniker derives from Danish heritage (his mum is from Denmark), with the 2X a throwback to a previous moniker and his home, Dublin (i.e doublin').
