Detroit Based Artist Andrew Brown Shares His Self-Produced New Song "In The Dark"
Brand new on the DCWS scene is Andrew Brown, a young up and coming musician, producer, and artist from Detroit. He's currently a jazz trumpet student in college, but recently began creating his own music and releasing it. Still only 18, Andrew has already played with and studied with many of the best musicians on the Detroit jazz scene.
Andrew began working on an album concept at the start of the new year, and has spent all of his free time writing and producing it since then. You can clearly hear the influences of R&B, Soul, Jazz, and Pop in Andrew's music, but his only focus is making music that he likes, and that other people can connect with.
Andrew recently released his song “In The Dark”, which he wrote, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered in his home studio. The track will be featured on his debut EP, due to release in November. Speaking about its creation and release, Andrew says,
“It's the first single released from an album project that I've been working on since the start of 2022. It combines the styles and vibes of Joji and Bruno Mars to create a depressing and introspective song that's still a bop that you can dance to. This is actually the first song I've ever produced and released, so it was a huge learning experience and accomplishment for me. I know it's not perfect and that I have far to go on this journey, but I can't help but be excited for what's coming next, and I think you should be too.”
If you’re a fan of artists like Joji, Bruno Mars, and Jacob Collier, you will definitely love Andrew’s refreshing new song. Listen to “In The Dark” right now, connect with Andrew on his social media, and be on the lookout for the second single off his upcoming EP, "I've Had Enough", dropping on July 29th.
