Brooklyn Based Singer-Songwriter ÊMIA Shares Her New Single "Selfish"
First releasing music under the moniker in 2017, ÊMIA is the indie-pop project of Brooklyn-based, Vietnamese-American singer-songwriter and producer, Anh Le. Racking up millions of views and streams through platforms like YouTube and Soundcloud as a teenager, Le is no stranger to making something homemade resonate with a worldwide audience.
ÊMIA released her first self-produced and self-written body of work last July with her debut EP, “Little Secret”; several songs from the EP were featured on Spotify's Fresh Finds, Fresh Finds: PopTronix and Pop Right Now.
ÊMIA has recently dropped her new single entitled “Selfish” and we’re excited to share it with you below. Speaking about the song, she says,
“SELFISH is my personal empowerment anthem. It's about taking every judgement I’ve been afraid of hearing about myself and embracing it. Last year, I was single for the first time in 5 years and I was still hyper-sensitive to my ex's opinions. I was careful with social media and casual dating. I thought I deserved to feel guilty for trying to move on. To combat that headspace, I wrote the song I wished I was strong enough to sing. This is the second single off of my upcoming album ZERO which I am releasing in the fall. My first single Behind the Scenes is out now. I'm proud to say that Behind the Scenes was placed on Spotify's "New in NYC: Pop" playlist.”
