Theophilus London's New Album "Bebey" Will Be Released on January 17th
Songwriter and producer Theophilus London will be dropping his new LP “Bebey” next week on Friday, January 17th. The album – which features Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, Lil Yachty, Ian Isiah, Raekwon, Giggs, Ariel Pink, Gemaine, and Kristian Hamilton - touches on themes of self-love and deep appreciation of his Caribbean roots. Theophilus’ style has also gained him recognition throughout the fashion community, most recently showcased via his collaboration with Virgil Abloh and Off-White, which appears on the cover art for “Bebey”.
Theophilus’ cosmopolitan left-field pop draws inspiration from a wide range of styles, from soul-pop and calypso to new wave and contemporary. Recent singles off the album include “Whiplash,” and a cover of the 1984 track by Steve Monite, “Only You,” both featuring Tame Impala, as well as “Pretty,” featuring Ian Isiah, and “Cuba,” which will be receiving its own video in the coming weeks.
In addition to his solo career, Theophilus has made waves as an in-demand collaborator and has appeared on tracks for the likes of Big Boi, Azealia Banks, and Kanye West, who was also the executive producer on Theophilus’ 2014 album “Vibez”.
