Interview: Troy, Alabama Based Rap Artist EmmeGod
EmmeGod is a talented emcee out of Troy, Alabama who recently dropped the track “I Remember”. After listening to it and sharing it on DCWS recently, it was only right that we connect with him to find out more about his story, his music and aspirations.

Congratulations on the release of your new song "I Remember." Why is releasing a song with the topic of overcoming struggles important to you?
We all have obstacles that we face. This song tells us the story of some of the things that I had to endure and overcome at my young age, and how we must stay positive even when things look bad.
How would you say that your life experiences up to now have shaped you as an artist?
I think my life experiences has made me a little bit more mature. It has made me more focused, and helped me develop a better character.
What would you say has been your biggest musical accomplishment of 2018 thus far?
I have to say that my biggest accomplishment is when I had recorded the song “Won't Lie”, and seeing it receive over 100k views on YouTube. That was pretty big for me.
Following up on the last question, what are some of your goals in 2019?
Become a better person for my family, be more focused on my music, and live life to the fullest.

Be encouraged and know that they can make it no matter what. We all have challenges, but the sky is the limit.
