Tell us about your recently released single/video "Game On"; what inspired you to write the track and who produced it? Also, who directed the visual?

The song “Game On” is directed by Thomas Jones of fivenine_productions, recorded by Damfmastermind Productions and written/produced by yours truly. The inspiration of the record stems from challenges and obstacles that are in every day life, whether big or small these are things that we all must equally face. Although I’m not a basketball player, I acknowledge the passion, dedication and determination that the culture of basketball holds, so I decided to draw a nexus between the two.

What do you look for in the production that you select to write to?

Whenever I write a song I look forward to two elements, one is for the beat itself to tell a the story even without my lyrics being on it. I consider an instrumental to be a stage and my words is the performer that guides the direction it takes.

Two I tried never to write for the present time but always for the future. Most of the greatest songs this world has ever witnessed came from those who not only resonated from what’s currently going on but beyond what people currently can see, so that has always been my motivation.

Will "Game On" be included on an upcoming EP or album this year? If so, what will the project be called and do you have a release date in mind?

Yes “Game On” will be featured on an upcoming EP called “Flawless Victory”. A release date is not set in stone yet, although it is not too far off.

What do you enjoy most about being an artist in Philly and what frustrates you the most?

I consider myself blessed to come from a city with so much inspiration that’s all around you, from the neighborhoods, to the subways, to the downtown city streets and everywhere in between. Philly is one of those places where even the air that you breathe can inspire you to create anything.

One of the biggest frustrations I feel is that because of the level of competition among Philly artists, it’s hard to unify our abilities and talents to reach greater heights. In some cases there’s envy between those who all want to be number one, but are not humble enough to the consider being number two.

What are some of your goals musically for the remainder of 2019?

Some of my goals for 2019 are to continue to develop my craft musically/production as well as find many ways to impact the culture around me. Everyday a song needs to be sung; everyday a message needs to be shared. I’m a slave to my gift, so you can expect more to come.
