Alexis Lynn Unveils Her Debut EP "Things Get Good" and New Music Video For "Lobby", Featuring Malaynah
After gradually revealing herself via a number of single releases this past year, soulful RnB pop vocalist Alexis Lynn is excited to unveil her debut EP “Things Get Good”. The 7-song collection features "Lobby," Alexis' most recent single, featuring rising hip-hop artist Malaynah, as well as the unabashed sensual number "Worst Behavior," the reggae-infused burner "Things Get Good," and the powerfully defiant anthem "Not This Time," among others.
Alexis' songs tell her story, of where it all began and where she is today: strong, confident, self-aware and ready to come into her own. Her music is deeply personal, exploring topics of love, lust, vulnerability, overcoming obstacles, self-awareness, and power with a polished, and inimitable sound.
"I'm so incredibly excited and nervous at the same time for the EP," Alexis shares. "I feel like I've had a lot to say over the past few years and a lot of it comes out on the EP. It's pretty personal for me which is one of the things I love so much about music, but it can also be really nerve wracking to share such an intimate part of yourself with the internet/world. I'm just so proud of the body of work and I can't wait for everyone to hear it."
To coincide with the EP release, Alexis has also dropped an official music video for "Lobby"; watch below. The song--released September 13--features rising hip-hop artist Malaynah and is gaining traction with several Spotify playlist adds.
The 20-year old Canadian singer-songwriter, recognized in the "Top 100" of CBC Music's 2019 Searchlight competition, has had a love of music as far back as she can remember. Some of Alexis' earliest and fondest memories date back to listening to music with her family, singing along to the car radio, and a father who loved to play guitar. So, it wasn't much of a surprise to her parents when she decided she wanted to be a singer at the age of 9. As she got older, Alexis dove deep into the music of Amy Winehouse, Mariah Carey and Alicia Keys, influences that can be heard in her modern pop/RnB sound.
